The Best BBQ Ever Produced by Mortal Man

The other day some friends from work and I tried out a relatively new BBQ restaurant on our lunch hour. And when I say restaurant I mean “trailer of awesomeness.” Yes, Franklin Barbecue, like a great deal of Austin’s culinary culture, is a food cart in a parking lot and this cart delivers.

Well, they don’t actually deliver, and get there early because the food sells out in hours.

Google Voice Voicemail Transcriptions Finally Gets One 100% Correct

I was very surprised to finally see a voicemail today that was transcribed perfectly. Perhaps they are continuing to improve the algorithms? It was only two days ago that the phrase “I came across dot cripple death” was included as part of a message in my inbox. A little disconcerting, really, like some sort of morbid new web protocol.

Eris With Leaked Android 2.1 v3 Gets OTA Update

My HTC Eris had the 3rd leaked version of Android OS 2.1 (by all rights it was the official release version of 2.1 functionally). There has been some speculation as to whether or not over the air updates would continue to work with the leaked versions. This morning my phone received the most recent official update and is now running build number 2.37.605.4.

While it didn’t really matter and I was fully aware of what I was getting into when I rooted the phone and installed the leaked version, it is comforting to be back official.

Now we just need a leaked version of Froyo!


Leaf Springs in a Modern Car?

Leaf springs were outdated when they went into WWII Jeeps. It’s really difficult to respect the intelligence of anyone who purchased a Hummer.
